I just ate your cereal. It tastes great, but there is no warning that it has gluten. I can’t have gluten. Now I don’t feel very well. Maybe put that on the box? Please?

Hi Lindsay and thanks for sharing your suggestion. We’re sorry to hear you’ve had this experience. This cereal isn’t gluten-free. When our products are certified gluten-free, we always ensure there’s a label saying so. If it’s not gluten-free and you don’t see a gluten-free label on the box, then it’s safe to assume not gluten-free (even if you don’t see gluten as a listed ingredient). The reason behind this is that even though you might not see gluten ingredients listed, there’s always chance of cross-contamination of non-gluten ingredients (such as oats) with gluten ingredients which often happens in the fields or during the milling process. At this time in North America, there isn’t enough organic gluten-free oats to meet our production needs and so we can’t offer gluten-free Oaty Bites or any other gluten-free oats products. However, I’ve passed along your suggestion to the Brand Manager who’ll review it for future consideration. If you’d like to know which of our products are gluten-free, please see here: http://www.naturespath.com/eat-well/gluten-free-celiac-diet. All the best, Justine, Nature’s Path Team

I cant’ thank you enough for your Oaty Bites cereal. It is almost perfect. It has the perfect amounts of sugar and sodium, and has a great crunch in cold milk. I wish it had a bit more fiber, but otherwise it’s a wonderful product.

I have recently been told to avoid wheat and to eat oat based cereals instead. I found a shop nearby that stocks oaty bites. It says there is a slight maple taste, i am just wondering if this is from the natural brown sugar cane or the ‘natural flavours’? i dont eat maple syrup but it isnt listed as an ingredient, does this mean the flavour is achieved with other ingredients? i understand you cant disclose the exact flavour composition but any information with regards to this would be greatly appreciated. Being able to enjoy this cereal would make life so much simpler!

Thanks for getting in touch with us! This is from the “natural flavors” in the ingredients listing where natural maple flavor is used. Please be sure to keep on enjoying this delicious organic cereal! Take care, Jamie, Nature’s Path Team

Thanks for sharing your comments with us Al. This cereal is not gluten free because of the possibility of cross contamination of a gluten containing grain in the field or during the milling process. About 20% of our products are gluten free, so please check out our gluten free/celiac page on our website here for more information: http://www.naturespath.com/eat-well/gluten-free-celiac-diet. My favorite gluten free cereal is Mesa Sunrise with Raisins found here: http://www.naturespath.com/products/eco%20pacs?tid=93&brand=All&nutri=All. All the best, Jamie, Nature’s Path Team

Hello,
I am a fan of cereal squares, like this. I am wondering if these are comparable to chex cereal or cascadian farms squares. If so they are minus the processed sugar and baking soda, making this as pure as can be. If not. I will still have to give them a try!

Submitted by Jamie on April 7, 2011 - 11:27.
Hi Zoe and thanks so much for taking a deeper interest in your family’s health! Evaporated cane juice is a raw form of sugar derived from certified organic cane. Organic means it does not contain artificial preservatives, additives or genetically modified organism (GMOs) and the ingredients are not grown with toxic pesticides, chemical fertilizers or fumigants. It has also been through minimal processing whereas white sugar is highly refined. We use many different organic ways of sweetening our products such as grape juice, pear juice, pomegranate juice, agave, and honey. For more information on some of our products go to our products page here: http://www.naturespath.com/products. Take care Zoe, Jamie, Nature’s Path Team

Thanks so much for taking the time to connect with us Julia. We can’t tell you the specific ingredients of the natural flavor because it is considered to be proprietary information, but I can tell you that it doesn’t contain any potato. Your son will be happy to know that he can still have his favorite cereal! All the best, Jamie, Nature’s Path Team

I compared Oaty Bites’ nutritional label posted on your website to the package of Oaty Bites that I bought a few months ago. I noticed that the sodium content per serving has increased from 115 mg to 140 mg and sugar per serving has gone up from 5 g to 6 g. Have you added more salt and sugar to your cereal?

Thanks for taking the time to get in touch with us Thomas. I have forwarded your observation to our Research & Development team who will look into this issue. We haven’t changed the ingredients or recipe of this cereal so the information we have online is correct. We will let you know if we find anything that says different. Thanks so much for your question. All of our products that do not contain peanuts, nuts or soy or dairy – as listed on the ingredient label are theoretically dairy, soy, peanuts & nut-free. However, because of the remote chance of cross contamination from machinery in the plant we can not gaurantee that there is no possibility of minute amounts of these allergens (peanuts, nuts & soy or dairy) in our products. As a precaution, you should take the product information to your medical practitioner to determine whether you can incorporate this cereal in to your daily diet. I hope this helps!
