No No GMO's!
As mentioned in my last blog post, last week Jeffrey Smith visited Nature’s Path head office to present to our employees on the health risks of GMO’s. The presentation was fascinating and at times stomach turning as he delved into the studies that illuminated the health risks of GMO’s for people and animals.
While I won’t disturb you with the same information he shared with us (it took about two hours), I will tell you how you can avoid these “freaky” foods. As promised, here’s a short list of tips Jeffrey suggested to avoid GMO’s:
1. Always buy and order organic when shopping or at restaurants (yes, you might become that annoying customer). While not perfect, it’s the best way to avoid ingesting GMO’s.
2. Avoid non-organic corn, soy and canola like a nudist avoids clothes. These are often GMO crops.
3. Look for Non-GMO labeling.
4. Ask local store managers to carry Non-GMO products. Make it known Non-GMO products are your preference.
5. If you’re still unsure, use this handy Non-GMO shopping guide as a reference when shopping: http://www.seedsofdeception.com/DocumentFiles/144.pdf
